Make it a ritual
One candle, cared for well, gives you fifty evenings of warmth. Here is how to get every one of them.

Trim before you light
Keep the wick to five millimetres before every burn. A trimmed wick gives a clean, even flame and keeps the amber glass clear.
Let the pool reach the edge
On the first burn, give the wax time to melt right to the glass. That first pool sets the memory of the candle and stops it tunnelling.
Give it a place
Rest it on a tray or dish, away from drafts. Two hours at a time is plenty. Then lid on, and let it settle until tomorrow evening.
Pass it on
Every Aurel arrives in a gift-ready box. And when the last of the wax is gone, rinse the glass with warm water and it starts a second life.
