Premium Baby Essentials — Thoughtfully Designed for Little Ones

The Challenge
Baby Sessions had an existing Shopify store with 100+ products but was struggling with low checkout conversions despite high add-to-cart rates. The founder wanted a complete redesign that would match their calming, neutral-toned Instagram aesthetic and introduce premium-feeling UX patterns to better convert their mobile-heavy traffic.

Our Approach
We rebuilt the store from scratch on the Horizon theme with a warm, calming colour palette inspired by their Instagram feed (@babysessionsstore). The design uses Playfair Display for elegant headings, sharp-edged cards for a modern editorial feel, and a signature card-stack fan-out hover effect inspired by Aether Apparel. Every section was custom-built to create a premium nursery shopping experience.

What We Delivered

• Full Custom Shopify Store – 10 bespoke homepage sections, each hand-coded as custom blocks with scoped CSS and vanilla Web Components
• Card Stack Fan-Out Effect – Signature interaction where product images fan out like a deck of cards on hover, used across collection pages and spotlights
• Split Story Section – 50/50 editorial layout with scroll-triggered fade-in animation for brand storytelling
• Product Spotlight Carousel – Large-format auto-advancing product showcase with card-stack integration
• Mosaic Instagram Grid – Custom 6-image layout (2 large + 4 small) pulling from brand aesthetic
• Testimonials Carousel – Auto-rotating customer reviews on dark background for contrast
• Custom Colour System – 6 coordinated colour schemes from warm off-white to charcoal, all with matching borders, text, and button styles
• Fine Dining Pricing – Removed currency symbols, rounded pricing for a premium boutique feel

The Result
A completely transformed store that feels like a premium baby boutique rather than a generic dropshipping site. The calming neutral palette, signature card-stack interactions, and editorial layout work together to build trust and encourage higher-value purchases.
